Onewheel+ XR Electronic Boards

Growing up on the west coast, I took up a number of "board" sports as a child. Surfing and skateboarding are part of my DNA and made an indelible mark on many of my childhood memories. To this day, I try to catch a wave or ride a skateboard with my young children to pass on my joy for these sports. Despite my affection for surfing and skateboarding, as an adult, I don't often have the time to take a trip to the beach to catch a wave or the confidence to ride a skateboard to work without a fear of hitting a rock on the street that could result in a wipeout and an unwanted case of road rash. Luckily for me, I recently had the chance to take Future Motion, Inc.'s Onewheel+ XR for a spin and I think I may have a new form of transportation that I would feel comfortable riding during my daily commute to work.

Incredibly, this unique form of electric powered micromobility is made for on- and off-road uses for trips ranging from 12-18 miles. Consequently, no more worries about road rash if I hit a pebble while riding a board on the street! Accompanying the smoothness of the ride, enabled by a single wide-bodied tire positioned in the middle of the board, the Onewheel+ XR features a substantial amount of power, torque and performance for those who are considering it for use as a commuter vehicle. The Onewheel+ XR also connects to the Onewheel App that enables users to record and share their rides with friends, among other things.

All in all, the Onewheel+ XR features smooth performance, a lot of fun and a familiar feel for those who are already comfortable surfing (snowboarding) or skateboarding. Aside from the impressive range, the ease of controlling the board and the comfortable Surestance™ footpads that provide a secure grip for your feet, a drawback for some may be its price tag that starts at $1,799 USD and can escalate if you opt for additional feature bundles. To be sure, if you can afford it, the experience of owning and riding a Onewheel+ XR is exhilarating.
