As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, Lyft and Uber have respectively announced the suspension of their carpooling services. Lyft is suspending its carpooling service, entitled Shared Rides, in all of its operating markets. Uber announced the suspension of its Pool option in the United States and Canada.
